Default DIY Hardtop Build?!?!

This Spring I'm going to make my own hardtop. ok, ok hear me out.

I've got tube bending and welding experience (aluminum), fiberglass and carbonfiber experience, and auto body experience.

that along with a lot of 3d modelling under my belt, i figure its at least feasible.

Ever heard of anyone trying this yet?

And most importantly who with a hardtop would be willing to let me take a few measurements??

As and when Jake has a tech day, you can show up and maybe someone will let you take measurements. Be warned though most hardtop owners don't ever take it off. Not sure if that will hinder you.

If you do go through with this I'd like to watch progress. So be sure to keep us updated.

Which hardtop do you intend to replicate? Or will you be designing your own?

Keep in mind any impacts to what SCCA class you plan to run in. Check the rules to ensure having a custom or aftermarket top does not put you out of the class you want to run in.

Just ask someone who is selling theirs since they are usually not installed anymore. I am sure someone will say yes.

I offer to you Mr. rpm my humble advice.

Build a hardtop or get a new girlfriend. It makes no difference to me.

A hardtop is messy and unpleasant.

It is less work and more enjoyable to get a new girlfriend. A lad driving top down in an S2000. How hard can that be?

P.S. When you get a new girlfriend, you can still take measurements.
