CHEAP 2 -Day Track Event at Watkins Glen !$250!
Hey guys!
Just want to give heads up for the cheapest I ever seen 2 days event at Watkins Glen with one of the best groups to run DE with. RTR PCA will have an event on Mon-Tue, May 7-8th. And it is only $250!!!! I wish I can do it myself, but I can't take time off for it. Several of the members here and my track friends are already signed up for event - so there will be a good representation for S2Ks. Most importantly RTR PCA people are very welcoming for non-Porsche drivers and love our cars! Not to mention that Watkins Glen is one of the best tracks on east coast!
In order to do the event you will need to be able to pass broomstick test with stock rollover protection or have a hardtop or aftermarket roll-bar in the car.
Also you will need to pass a pre-track tech inspection according to guidelines described here (and it is not a difficult task):

Please let me know if you have any questions. I have been running with RTR PCA for the third season and basically build my track schedule around their events!

They won't allow single day registration for this event. RTR PCA always allow it for their 3 day events. You can register Fri-Sat-Sun, Fri only, or Sat-Sun. They will have another event at the Glen in the end of July (27-29) which I will be attending. For that you can get in for Friday only. And there is a 3-day event at NJMP-Lightining coming up too in June (8-10) which you can register for various days. Gonna miss that too because of F1 in Montreal..
Trailer is awesome! Haven't used it this year yet, but very soon! Thanks!

I saw it this morning and meant to ask you about it.
Congratulations!! When do you expect to receive it? I like the concept of the car and if money were no objective (and I did not like my Si as much as I do) I'd probably have ordered one too. In any case I hope you get it soon and that you will post a review and pics for us.
Is it true that they are charging a $5K premium for the BRZ? and why did you choose the Subie version over the Scion FRS?

No one knows anything about the car. No certain date for delivery either. I hope end of May since I am #1 on the list at the dealership. Marketing was the worst I have ever seen. I had a deposit for 1.5 months before I found how much it will cost. We will be giving up our STI for it... Kinda sorta saving money. I have heard about mark-ups but my dealer didn't mention it in any form. At least yet. I will go soon to talk all the numbers. So we will see. But my deposit is 100% refundable, so they better not try to screw me up. I am not paying a 1 cent over MSRP... Paying sticker might be painful enough. I will have to like the car a lot even for that. I am too old to drive Scion And Subaru's have been great to us. Also my wife wanted heated seats!

i no pass broomstick w/o cheating - which I would do if I had to
I will be in Vermont Monday the 7th though. And co-incidentally, that will be the 25th anniversary of buying my first automobile...
You know how sentimental women are about anniversaries and stuff
For anyone I have not bored with the story - the clock in my first car did not work so I set it to 5:07 - the day I bought the car.
I looked at that time every day for over a year - kinda like how I still look for the thermometer in this S over and over again
