The big event at the Glen in September is the Vintage Cup and Grand Prix Festival. It starts on Friday the 8th and runs through Sunday the 10th. Most of the action is downtown on Friday, then it heads to the track on Saturday. Check it out at Grand Prix Festival

Yep, we're trying to figure out a nice little 1 to 2 week road trip in the S... would be great stuff. I saw the GP Fest stuff earlier, would be really great to see the old cars back on track at the Glen! We'll post up if we ever get some plans finalized for a trek through upstate!

Hey, what about tire stores? I'm not familiar with what's up there, except I notice there's not Discount Tire stores. The place they usually take their cars to for inspection only sells Cooper tires.

Not sure what you mean by 'up there?' I can't speak for the others, but I usually buy my tires from Tire Rack or from a local tire store. To be honest, I find the prices to be similar as the local stores seem to know about Tire Rack and its prices. Occasionally, they even beat them.

I've seen that, too, but the selection of the local stores may not correspond to your desires. I just ordered a set of the new Bridgestone Potenza RE-01R for use in the local road tire autocross class and I doubt I could find them locally (although I hafta admit that I haven't looked).

It does pay to do thorough homework...

Tire stores up here? Yea right...

I'm with Skip and Jeff, if you want something specific use Tire Rack, Discount Tire, Edge Racing or any of the other on-line companies. Have the tires shipped to their front door and then take them out for some quality mounting and balancing.

Our sizes are just not common enough for stores to tire up inventory dollars on something they may not sell.

I'm sending a list of recommended tires to dad tonight... I appreciate all of the input
They had a blast cruising back to the North Country from way down Arkansas way and really love the car...

Muahahahahah... two more S2K addicts

I live in Dallas. New York is certainly "up there" in my frame of reference.
