Excellent idea Ellen! I plan to host a nice drive up to Ausable Chasm sometime this summer, I just hope the weather doesn't produce as much rain as last year had.

I'll throw more info up this week on what people would like for a date.

Ooh, the post rated a sticky status

Thanks for adding stuff Doug. Sadly I won't be doing anything like the races this year so they sort of dropped of my radar

Not spending any money except on gasoline and car payments.

Hmm, I have a new thing now that I am poor - I never turn down free food

I eat all kinds of crap at work if someone brings it in and offers it up

Most of the people there love me because I have brought in fresh baked cookies a couple times - still hot from the oven. Nice being only 10 minutes from the shop.

I don't know about that rafting crap though Might be too much nature for me

I'm not too good with the rafting thing either. I'd be up for the drive and the trek though.

I was a bit nervous too when I heard about it, especially since the water was so high, but even then, you're not going down any crazy rapids or dropping off any steep grades in there, its actually quite peaceful and relaxing. And there is an instructor with you on the back of the raft, every once in a while he/she will ask you paddle a little on one side just to line up with a section of water and not go into the shore. The rafting portion only takes maybe 15 minutes with a stop along the way to talk about a famous pool of water used in movies to this day. Its pretty cool.
