Yet another reason to use stock plugs!
so a friend of mine calls me from the side of the road - 'my engine just shut off!'
towed home that night, tried to yank out the spark plugs but one wouldn't come out. metal shavings in the intake manifold. hmmmm interesting.
yank the head and.....
that's not usually a good thing.
what could do this to a piston? oh... this...
the valves broke off their stems and became lodged sideways. looks like the piston kept running into them.
still not exactly sure what caused this - whether it was a broken tip from the plug or if the entire bottom half of the threading came out. the spark plug is completely obliterated.
plugs were Bosch double tip style. not sure what they are but they say Super R1 on them.
check your plugs!
