Whose installed their own soft top? Without frame swap.
Just wondering who here has done a soft top install on their S. I just bought a new soft top with glass window from ebay. Got an EZ-ON brand top. $382 shipped brand new so couldn't pass it up!
Now I would love to just have someone else do it but would kinda rather save the $400 or so for something else by doing it myself.
So how bad is it really doing it yourself? Any specialty tools needed? How many hours should I expect it to take first time?

You will easily spend over 10 hrs with an ez. They require adhesive in the front corners.
Best tip you'll get....don't bend the top retainers to get you old top off. Cut your top with a razor, and slide the leftover top piece out of the retainer from the sides.

There are two threads with detail instructions including pictures. You have to take apart a lot and I would say to give it at least a weekends time just to be safe. I want to do mine myself as well but i'm in no rush since I have a HT now. If you want an extra hand let me know. I wouldn't mind helping out just to gain the experience.

Hey moddiction sent you a pm a few minutes ago about top replacement before reading this. It is a pain and will take you at least 10 hours by yourself the first time. You will need a few tools such as a rivet gun, drill, and some other misc. Tools. If you're planning on doing this on your own then disregard my pm.
