Hey S2000 fans,

Im seeing tomorrow an S2000 in New Jersey, around Hackensack / Newark /Yonkers
Can someone recommend a good place for PPI for the car?

i tried the two forum members, neither will provide such service

Never heard of that, I would bring someone who knows about the s2000 or someone who knows about cars to look at it.

If you have a mechanic you use for your other cars, they can check the car out for you.

The car your going to look at, were they ever on s2ki?

 

What year/price?

We can easily tell you the condition to expect via this info.

 

Car is an 05, 40K miles, priced at 24K$
4 previous owners, last one had it for 7 years now, complete service information from Honda.
as its on the high side of pricing i rather have it PPI just so im comfortable with the price

 

For that price, it better be the cleanest most perfect S2000 in existence.

Go ahead and check it out, do not buy just yet. I have an incredible car to show you, you tell me if its not the cleanest s2000 you've ever seen.

Be sure to pop the hood, bring a flashlight.

04 black/black, 40k, all original paint, amazing car.

the car is at 23500, he might be negotiable.

 

i probably did not mention the most important part of all - it is a GPW with Tan interior, this is the reason for me having all this trouble.

 

Means nothing w/o matching VINs on all body panels IMHO.

 

05 with 40k, for 24k, way to much.

I have an 08 that had 16k and I paid 23k 4 years ago

 

Everyone here knows berlina black is the best color anyway.


I gotta agree. I bought an 09 with less than 3000 miles for a couple grand more than that 4 years ago.

 

thanks for all the replys - went to see the car today,
matching VIN stickers on all body panels, complete maintenance records, car looks 9/10 on the outside and inside, yet, roof seemed like no one cared for it throughout the life of the car - roof straps were dead, not elastic at all, above passenger side there was a noticeable tear (that was not mentioned in the selling ad)

bottom line - we could not agree on the price, still searching for my S2K.


PS - was test driving the car in the rain (heavy new-jersey rain) and although everything was close (windows, roof) it sounded clearly like there is something open there, could here everything that happened on the road, especially the water splash of the tires and the very loud traffic noise coming into the cabin, is this a normal for s2k? i though that AP2 should enjoy better isolation and NVH
