Thanks for splitting hairs chief. I got my circuits mixed up there, but the context in which I was talking about it is still correct.

Yes, you can light an LED with an AC source. Thanks for confirming I said that.

A diode in parallel with a speaker will not change the impedance of the speaker, I didn't say it would. It absolutely WILL change the impedance of the overall load the amplifier is driving so the point remains.
The point was a 10 page dissertation on impedance matching and AC/DC current sources wasnt need for a simple question. "Find 12volts" would have been perfect.

if i was you .. i would run a new wire from either the battery or ignition column.... the wiring for the power window is reverse polarity.... meaning.... there are two wires for each window at the switch... each of these wires is capable of accepting either a 12 volt or ground input.... for instance.... wire 1 would get grounded, and wire 2 would get 12v power, and the window will roll up, now if you reverse the polarity between the two wires, and give wire 1 12 volt, and wire 2 ground.. the window will roll up...

play it safe and catch your power from the ignition column... you'll see a thick black harness coming down going into the fuse block with a brown connector at the end... there is a 12 or 14gauge ***black/yellow*** wire in there... its an ignition wire....

now if you wanna get crazy and make your lights turn on with your parking lights... you need to add a bosche style relay...and the wiring will be as follows...

85... Ground

86... (+) Parking light wire.... (red/black striped wire located at the keyless entry module...

30...(Black/yellow, ignition wire)

87...to 12v power side of the LED...

***and you need to ground the other side of the LED***

if you need help dude... gimme a call... i'll give you a hand... 5166440097...

10 page dissertation, huh?
He didn't know enough to do the job but knew just enough to be dangerous so I thought I'd add some extra info for him.

Thanks for the tips.
Jose for the window power, if I do in fact find the 12v power source what would the problem be? Can't I just use that power and then ground it and be good?
I just would prefer to not have to run the wires into the cabin and under the carpet and all. Just makes added work for me if I can do it all in the door panel.

Ok just wired one up. Super simple. Found the 12v for the window switch, grounded it done. Comes on when key is double turned so should be perfect. Installed the led nice and flush looks great.
Will have to wait till it's dark to see what it really looks like.
Thanks for the help but def much easier without the technical stuff lol confuses me more.

Just finished the other side so all done. Once it gets a little darker out I'll take a couple of pics. Love them.

Good deal. Just make sure the resistors and LED's aren't getting too hot.

Here are a couple of pics. My camera is not very good so really hard to get a good picture in the dark but get the idea.
I'm eventually going to get new door handle insert pieces and insert the LED on the other end from how I did it.
