traffic Queens to White Plains
My girl has to go to White Plains for work next week from 10-6 from Queens. How bad is the traffic in the morning? What time should she hit the road?

the worst part is going over the bridge. Leia used to work in queens so she was going white plains to queens and that took 35-55 mins...not sure in the reverse direction...use traffic(dot)com to get uo to the minute alerts on volume and i think it estimates your drive time also

its not bad at all. I've worked in white plains for the past 5 years commuting from queens.
Its a little better if you leave after 830.
Usually takes me 30-40 mins into the WP city area. Whitestone to the Hutch, to the Sprain to the Bronx River Pkwy is usually pretty good.

Depending where in Queens but anywhere close to you should'nt be too bad, Lon. I have had to go to my whiteplains office a few times a year and it takes about 45 to an hour. I have had to sit in some nasty traffic depending what I took. Just to be safe I would say give an hour and a half for the first few days and try to shed off some minutes and see how it works out as the days go. New job .. she shouldn't risk being late.
Keep in mind that next week is when school opens so watch out for the yellow buses and the mini vans. They tend to slow things down A LOT.

took me 35 mins this morning.
got on the whitestone bridge at 8:40 and got to the white plains exit on the 287 at 9:15.
There was some light traffic on the hutch.

Today is a holiday for some people. School is closed. A lot less traffic today.
