Default Touge Home Course Results

After a nice dinner tonight and a little rendezvous at the Palace, Mr.Vdubnn and the Fever decided to take the long route home.

Having vanquished a couple of ricers on the way, Mr.Vdubnn and the Fever decided to match wits on the Touge Home Course. The last leg of the course, the Decider, is where the Cross County Parkway West ends and the Saw Mill River Parkway South begins. It is here that there is a crazy left-hander, followed by a 1/8th mile straight onto a wicked S-turn that dumps the Touge Challengers onto the Saw Mill. Upon hitting the Saw Mill, the winner is declared.

Mind you, the Decider is not a flat road, it has more banks than Wall St.

Following Initial D rules, if the runner or front car, widens the gap, he wins and by the same token, if the chaser or rear car, closes the gap, he is the victor.

The straight, before the corner entry at the left-hander, was textbook by both players. The digital speedo on the AP1 read 72 mph before the corner brake. During the warm summer months, the AP1 has taken the turn at a max speed of 64 mph. Factoring in the cold weather and slippery surface, the AP1 enters the turn at 62 mph, using the opalescent glare of the Stock C's brakes as a guide. The Stock C is well ahead by at least 1 car length, having traced the perfect line. The erractic sound of the C's engine gives a key note that the driver is exhibiting perfect throttle control. The FWD is clearly at an advantage here.

At the straight, the AP1 is at the heart of VTEC in third gear trying to give chase, but the Stock C is widening the gap. The AP1 has no chance of closing the distance here and hopes that late braking will be at an advantage at the S-turn.

At the S-turn, the AP1 utilizes the "Super Late Braking Technique" as seen in Initial D Fourth Stage, episode 7. But to the dismay of the driver, the Stock C is slowly pulling away while in the turn, once again tracing the line like it was on rails. When both contestants have reached the Saw Mill Straight, the FWD is well ahead, the F20C is furiously churning! 9K third gear, perfect shift fourth gear!!! Throttle all the way down!

But alas, it is too late. The runner is ahead by 2 and a half cars and THIS BATTLE IS OVAR!!!

It was a heart-wrenching loss, the AP1 put up a good fight but the overwhelming torque, paralleled to the light-weight of the Stock C was no match for the AP1.

With a few suspension mods the AP1 will reign supreme.

Till next time......

The cross-county Touge was always my favourite, summer or winter, specially that section, it never gets borings, it only gets more exciting if cars are added to the mix, or a little rain. the stock C is one of the most well balanced vehicles produced, so that in turn, give great cornering speed and very little under steer. with the center of gravity lowered a little by cutting the top 2 coils, the C glides greacefuly around the 3 turn section. i believe tho that the events leading up to the cross county touge were a little more interesting

Where were you guys in a hurry too? The hotel room? Who paid for the room? Who was the french maid and who was the angry butler? Hope you guys had a fun time as you leaned on your cars sipping wine and finger-jabbing each others navels. You two have got adventures every week it seems! Allen gets to experiment being Edgar Allen (ha ha) Poo, and his lover gets to add commentary. Nice job Gay Hardy Boys! J/K

at least we do something exciting and manly, like put our driving skills to the test. unlike someone who greases down baby whales and gives shiatsus to wet seals, while feigning fatigue as an excuse to not hang out with his so called "friends".

i'm sure he could take the decider if he wanted to. get a couple cocktails in him and Snipes will conquer the decider while doing a 720.
