I've seen it when they have multiple cars set-up and pull iseveral cars over at a time, but typ w/ one cop what do you think?
This may sound weird but sometimes when a group of cars passes a cop and he pulls out you can maintain speed so he goes after who ever slows down but... he may take you as you continue to speed...
what works better is to screw the guy behind you. slow down enough so the guy behind you is directly behind you, he won't pass you with the cop coming up on you both and the cop won't try to cut inbetween you two to give you a ticket. he'll just pull over the guy behind you or go after him if he does try to pass.
This really works. i gut zapped by laser coming back from boston on 95 doing 95, there was nobody on the road so i had no warning from the V1, the guy behind me was usuing me as a rabbit. i began to slow after i heard the V1 and sure enough saw him a few seconds later, guy behind me did too we both slowed to 65, he wouldn't pass me and as i saw the cop coming up i just took my foot off the gas...
Another tip i always use is to pull the e-brake, with disc brakes back there you won't lock anything up and you save the cops seeing brake lights if your in traffic and he's coming up behind you. Never jam the brakes on if your in a group, the front of the car diving down makes you look guilty.

Just saw another sneaky trick on 287 before the Tap bridge.
traffic was moderate and i saw a cop merge onto the highway, he got al the way over into the left passing lane and slowed to around 60. I was the forth car in line and just sat there trying to figure out what to do and how i was going to keep my 79 MPH average as i was heading to Boston.
after a minute somone behind me jumped into the middle lane and started to pass us all, i flicked my beams on bet he kept going as the center lane was wide open. He passed the cop at around 80, cop pulled out and nabbed him.
Sneaky trick...
i got caught up in traffic in CT and my average slipped to 75 after i did a few 100 mph blasts to make up for the traffic.
