To tint or not to tint

To tint or not to tint
That is the question. On my previous two cars i had tints, so far on the S none. If i do it I would go very light, like 50% just to change the look of the car, not to hide anything going on inside the car. If I had the OEM hardtop I would have the car tinted in a heartbeat, but with the ragtop, hmmm. I got tickets on my other two cars because the tints were dark(20% on first car and 35% on second car). Opinions of 50% tints on a Spa yellow S?

Well, I've always gotten tickets for tint on my other cars, that's why I elected not to do it on the s2000.

On a side note i got pulled over today for the first time having this car for no front plate. I didn't get a ticket though The plate stays off!

Last i heard it's legal to tint any % on the back and only 6inches in the front.
Never legal on the sides.
I don't plan on doing it for the s2k because it looks pretty dark from the outside.
If i even tint it 50% i think i would be ticketed in no time.

i have mine tinted at 35% all around. i havent had any problems with the police yet *KNOCK ON WOOD*.
the laws for jersey is that the front side windows may not be tinted at all. the rears can be tinted to any thing your hear desires though.
in new york, i think it's 35% all around, but i'm not 100% positive.

I know the law to a T unfortunately
I am just curious about how it will look and if the code will be enforced with such a light tint. Ok, here is the NY state law on tints: The rear window may be tinted as dark as you desire. If a 4 door or a 2 door with rear side windows, those may also be tinted as much as you desire. The driver side and passenger side window must let 70% of the light pass through the window. That basically means no tint is allowed on the two front windows. The windshield can be tinted no lower than 6 inches from the top of the windshield as it is seen as a safety device to protect your eyes from the sun. When you have a dark interior(S is all black), the tint will look darker with the top up, this may attract more police to pull you over even though you have a close to legal tint. Hmmmm, what to do.
I told the officer today that the dealer never drilled the holes in the front bumper to install the license plate. he asked where it was and I said at home. He said some people put the front one on another car that has no plates. I assured him that this was not the case and if he wanted to he could stop bye my shop tomorrow(we were right near it) and I would present him with the plate. I told him I need to get the dealer to pay for a body shop to drill the holes because I don't feel as if i am responsible to pay for such labor seeing as how it is not my fault. He ran my license and came back and said have a nice day.

If you get yours done with 50% or around that let me see pics. I have wanted to go with that for a while but never knew how it would look. My prelude had 30% all around and i only got 1 ticket for it in 2 years but i dont wanna go that dark on my s2k.
