Ticket Question
I got pulled over doing 88mph in a 65mph but got a ticket for careless driving. The ticket does not show my speed or the posted speed limit but does indicate that it was raining. My courtdate is 10/23 in Homdel.
Is this better or worse and do I need to get an attorney?

well with out the speed written down, I think you have a way to fight it.
You should fight it, its not worth getting the points on your license and then seeing your insurance rates go up for another few years....
i'd say get an attorney who specializes in traffic/speeding tickets etc. and you should be fine...I used to go to court to represent myself and basically got owned by both the judge and the cop.....I'm no lawyer

looks to me to be a little better than a speeding ticket:

If you have the time... I would make an exploratory visit to the Court while it is in session ASAP to observe how the show is run there ... see if people are having success in representing themselves; then make up your mind as to how to go. If you see an attorney there that seems to know the ropes, ask for a card.

Yup he did, a 88 on a 65 depending where you were it could also be double points so i think he did give you a break.
BELIEVE me when i tell ya talk with the prosecutor, all they want is $$ so ask him instead of gettin the point on your license if he can give you the max penalty for something else.
If not your insurance is sure to go up.

I wonder how this will affect me if I have an Arizona license.

i heard pre-bargaining is over?
Not sure about NJ, but in SI, i didn't even get a chance to talk to prosecutor, straight talk to judge.
I should've hired a attorney, because now i'm left out with 4 points on my license.

I agree with defender. visit court when you get and see how it's run. every court I've been to ran a bit different. but if you had arizona license, just pay the fine and be over with.
