Default thinking of moving to Jersey City, NJ

Hello,

I work for Merrill Lynch and we have a office in Jersey City that I can work out of. I want to live near the office and also be close to where ever the night life is. I want to be in a decent area. I dont have any kids or wife. I am 27.

The office location is
101 Hudson Street, Jersey City, NJ

Luxury Apt sounds expensive. What would rent be around that area?

Maybe a studio in the Newport section of Jersey City; not directly on the waterfront, a few blocks back...

You ever see Beverly Hills cop when Axle asks if that's the ladies car and she says something like "No, we just take whichever is closest"?(yes I know it was meant as a joke) Well that's true in Jersey City except everyone's car looks like it went to war.

Seriously, stick to the burbs. After a year in Jersey City you'll be ready to run head first into a wall.

Look at it this way, maybe you could get an endorsement deal from LoJack? He lives in JC, and we've recovered his car 6 times this month alone... If we can do it here, we can do it anywhere!

The Newport section of Jersey City is very nice, nothing like the rest of the city.

Mostly everyone living there is white-collar, working in NYC or in Northern NJ. Average household income is well in excess of $100k, with most people in their 30s-40s.

Many residents park their cars in a garage or secured lot. There is nothing really bad about this neighborhood. S2k harry lives there with this S2000.
