Tapping into lower rad hose?
If I were to tap into the lower radiator hose with an approx. 1/2" ID hose to go through my cooler and then dump it back into the upper rad hose also with a 1/2" ID hose (to be cooled off immediatly), do you think I would be taking to much flow away from the engine and might cause overheating?
Another thought I had was that the thermostat obviously isn't always open (starts to open at 170ish) so on colder days there might not even be flow through the lower radiator line which would be an issue to consider (granted I don't drive the car till it gets fairly warm out). Also it would now take even longer for the oil to heat up not that I really care but still something to consider.
I can always use the coolant lines where the stock oil cooler was plumbed, but that water (I'm assuming) is already hot from running through the engine since it's the last leg of the journey before entering the waterpump and being recirculated. Since I'm using a water to oil cooler (heat exchanger) the larger the delta T, the more cooling I get on the oil. I've read that the water coming out of the radiator is approx 70F cooler then it is when it enters so thats a LOT of cooling power I could use (assuming I won't get any other problems).
Worst comes to worst, I could always just try it and see how it goes but I rather not ruin perfectly good rad lines if I don't have to...unless someone has spare ones they don't need anymore
Thoughts?

Yeah, if I don't end up tapping the rad hose that might be the way to go (along with a lower fan switch possibly).

Not sure what engine management you're running, but a fan switch may be pointless. I'm almost certain that with ems you can set the fans to come on whenever you like using the oem fan switch.
I got an aftermarket slim fan & plugged it in the stock harness.
Trying to see if the thing works.
