Suggestions on CAI?
I am thinkking on instaling a CAI in my S2000. Does anyone have any advises on brands, models, and a good shop near Glen Cove where I can have it installed? I've seen the comptech CAI as well as the K&N, there is a $130 difference between both, being the comptech the more expensive one. I would really appreciate suggestions.
Thanks

I like the Comptech I installed last fall. And with the Comptech exhaust just installed a few weeks ago. All I can say is WOW... They make the car what it should of been from the factory.

Best intake IMO = stock
We get rain too often in NY for me to want to drive around with a puddle straw connected. Plus the gains are too minimal (probably 1hp if you already have headers and exhaust and more power can be had by just resetting the ECU). I would just get the comptech if I wanted an intake for the looks of it. Best looking exhaust IMO.

Although you can install it your self if you have never put one in
You may want to have it done or at least have some one help
you that knows.
I have a AEM intake and although Kane is right about HP gains I still
Believe it breaths better and you will notice on your butt dyno
As far as the water issue I went with the AEM because they have the
Attachment that opens up and prevents water locking your engine
But after I bought I read some things that made sense in order for the
Water to make it all the way up that 3" pipe on our car you'd most likely
Have to be at full throttle and I also read that having that valve on the
Intake robs it of any power gain you might get. So I don't know what
Is true but I have piece of mind knowing I have the Valve on, &
I have almost 30,000 miles on my car and driven in rain storms
And the winter with out problems. So I don't know if I have any HP gains
Or losses for that matter but it looks and sounds Kwl
My vote is for the AEM intake Hope this helps and good luck
in you search

F/I is a endless money pit. With a intake, it's just $250 or so and u gain a good bit of sound. With F/I, u spend thousands on the F/I unit. Then new clutch, then differential, then motor rebuild, then another clutch, etc.
Seriously, that's about the worst advice you can tell someone. Dont ever go F/I unless you have the constant ability to shell out $$$ and have made the decision to go F/I on your own. Not peer-pressured by others to do it.
