I had low oil not too long ago and had an obnoxious tapping sound coming from inside the headgasket....
many claimed it to be the spring rod.....i added oil and the sound slowly diminished
changed oil and now completely gone.....
engine flush needed????
Any $.02 is more than appreciated

there is no inside the headgasket. its a flat piece of rubber/metal. not much to it. when your car is low on oil, you usually hear the valves. if the sound is gone now, then dont worry about it.
and what is a spring rod?
do you mean valve?

i'm pretty sure he means inside the head. If you were low on oil or long overdue for an oil change you can gear a tapping.
Old mechanics trick to tell when a car definitely needs an oil change actually is to listen to the valves.
