Someone talk me into or out of S2 #2
So, as many of you know, I lost my MY02 to theives 2 years back.
Now, I am commuting 100 miles a day and rock a EK civic.
The car runs awesome, but I am stacking up miles and it has 187k on it currently.
The commute comes with my job, so it is not going anywhere. I travel 98% highway everyday.
So, do I get another 02-03 s2, or another newer civic?
I am probably getting engaged in the next 1.5 years, but currently do not have any debt.
So yeah, thoughts.
If i bought say an 02 for $12-13k with under 50k on it (thats reasonable right?) and I put 30k on i a year, thats max 80k, I can still sell the car for more then 9k, that isnt too bad.
OH MAN someone freaking weigh in.

I think you already made up your mind coming back and making that post... Unless you did the same on a civic forum you know what you want now do it!

I just wanna let you know, I do the same thing. I do 100 miles a day commuting with my car, maybe more with driving around from school to school at work. I used to have a 08 Civic LX, and let me tell you, buying my 05 S2K with 40k miles on it was the best thing I have ever done. There is no comparison. The pure joy I get out of driving this car everyday way over shadows any sort of plus the civic had. 5 seats: pfft, I don't even have that many friends. Bigger trunk: I'm not a package delivery company, I don't need tons of space. Gas mileage: Ef that noise, I got 29-32 mpg with my driving the civic, I get 25-28 with the same driving in the S....I'll take the 4 mpg hit for the fun factor.
And remember, just because you buy one S doesn't mean you can't get a second one for track/show/turbo or whatever you really wanna do. To me the S is the perfect daily driver and I love it with a passion.

I do not have a garage, but do have a private parking area behind my apartment. I would obviously be getting full coverage based on my wonderful past experience of coming out to no seats, cluster, radio, shift knob, radio, steering wheel!
Can a clean, under 50k 02-03 be had for 12-13k?
Edit: Only have one parking spot, and not dealing with alternate side, or paying for two insurance(s)

I find myself in the same position as you. Except my daily is a Kia and not a Civic. Same thing happened, had my 01' taken from me for its seats and steering wheel.
Every time I see one, I miss it. How it drove, how it sounds. But the sad fact is, as long as there are ricers, your S will never be safe. Garage or no garage, eventually you have to park the S somewhere. It only takes them minutes to break in and steal the seats again.
And sadly, this is what keeps me from getting another one. Knowing that it will just be a matter of time before some other lowlife ricer slashes my top to steal a set of seats, that IMO, aren't really anything special to begin with.
If the Honda culture didn't suck so much, I'd consider another one. But it does, so I wont.
