Default SJF Steve: Alignment Review

Since I was the first S2k to get an alignment from Steve, I thought it was worth the review and let everyone know of his services. SJF is located in Jefferson NJ, very close to Mountain Creek if anyone knows where that is. He was really helpful in explaining everything from camber, toe, caster etc which I wasn't a expert on but he certainly was the expert. I came out knowing a little some some before I left his garage.

The job took a little over an hour, but we definitely bs'd quite a bit while doing the alignment. I sat in the car on the latter half of the alignment which was highly recommended. After the aligment, Steve asked me to take the car for a test drive and the car drove fantastic. It felt more stable during higher speeds on straights and definitely improved feel when taking corners and turns. He was very thorough with the job and made sure everything was perfect before leaving his garage.

I honestly wished I knew a little more about suspension setups, alignment specs, etc prior to going to his shop. But he definitely helped me in getting what i wanted on the car: Mostly street driving with occasional aggressive driving and even tire wear (much as possible). He printed me out a alignment spec of the finished job which i forgot at home...i'll post later.

I would highly recommend going to him, especially at $80, you can't beat that. He was very knowledgeable and honest about his service. If you have your own specs, it will help him in getting the exact alignment you want on your car.

I'm in Spring Valley NY and will be needing an alignment soon since I just did the springs. I don't know of any places around here other than Sears. $80 sounds great, I'll definitely check it out... my gf has a condo in crystal springs in I think in Vernon, or near there... so it's definitely on the way if I visit.

Steve's a great guy and fellow autocrosser with the NNJR SCCA. Nothing beats getting an alignment from an autocrosser. We're probably some of the most anal people when I comes to alignments...lol.
