Second Gear Grind
I saw the service notice for the "second gear grind." Has anyone had this problem because I think I have it. It definetly feels like there is not enough clearance and that some sort of adjustment is needed.

What I'd recomend you do is bring it to your dealership and see if they can work something out with you. I had the grind, TSB054 (I believe, or was it 055? I had them both done) I took it to the dealership to get checked out, and I qualified for it to be fixed. Honda footed the bill, it took about a week (which from what I've heard is generally longer then most) however I've yet to grind my gears since.

Seems to be a world-wide problem. Mine's at the dealers as I write but they just want to change the gearbox oil despite their own mechanic previously diagnosing a syncromesh problem! Am feeling somewhat pi$$ed!
Good luck with it

what years are your cars, I understood that this was eliminated in the late 02 and 03 models, but I have an 03 and the problem still exists. Since there is no recall for these years Honda has not been honor the recall number.

I don't have it on my 03 and bigballz 02 doesn't have it either.
Try pulling all the way to lower left then release also as one tech said.
Wait a half sec. more before engaging second.
If your grinds all the time bring it to honda if they can duplicate the problem
they would fix it.
