Default A Saturday in Manhattan

This upcoming Saturday me and the lady are heading into Manhattan. Our only plans are to head to the diamond district to check out some rings and the DMB show @ MSG. I'm pretty much looking for a good spot to eat and drink near either the diamond district or MSG.

I am not to sharp with Manhattan, especially since we will be use mass transit. Anybody have any insight? Thanks!

-Nick.

Check out Stout right near MSG. Good beer selection, nice atmosphere, and good burgers.

Dallas BBQ on 42nd is a good place to eat. A little crowded but 'mouth watering' good food. Just don't tell josserman about it.

You'll be at 48th and 5th/6th Aves. If you're up to spending a couple of bucks there are a couple of restuarants located inside Rockefeller Center (around the perimeter of the skating rink). The Sea Grill is one I forget the name of the other. Or from the Diamond District you can walk over to Grand Central and eat at The Oyster Bar for a reasonable price. (You already put out for the ring. ) Or you can eat at one of the consessions there on the lower level. There's a couple of varieties of food. The Royalton Hotel at 44th & 5th has a nice lobby for a quiet but pricey drink and then head down to 34th Street for your show. When it starts getting dark hit up the Empire State Bldg for some extra points on the way home.

You can thank me later

If you can use the LIRR for less hassle it runs on a schedule and it's more comfy than the subway.

sounds like a pregame smokefest at andy's house.

there is a great gyro truck right outside msg. gotta save money now you're buying a ring.

any place right around msg is going to be stupid crowded.

if you want to walk a few blocks, check out this great italian restaurant: http://www.trattoriatrecolori.com/

i would make a reservation since its in the theatre district and may get a little crowded, depending on what time you go.
