Being a paid member gives other members some security as S2KI at least has some basic information that may be helpful.
It's by no means foolproof, but its better than nothing.

you probably would if you ever get screwed by a guest in a transaction, and when you try to find out info, no one knows anything about them.

quoted from hondagal in the main car f/s section:
"GUESTS, i.e., non-paying users, can only post their own S2000's for sale. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!
MEMBERS may sell whatever car they want as long as it belongs to them and not someone else."
so guests can sell their own s2ks on here. does metro have its own rules on that?
i also remember bill making a post in large blue font in someone's f/s thread a while back stating this as well.

1. ONLY paid s2ki members can post for sale threads. All other posts will be deleted. This is to lessen fraud on the forums. Members' information are on file with the admins. Therefore, when parts do not arrive or something is amiss, the buyers have a person to look for.
Not really sure why there is discussion every time. The issue in the other thread was what to do with the offending post.
My opinion - There are rules on the site, there are rules in the local forum. mods/CO's, enforce them. Delete the thread, send a polite email explaining why. if the offender wants to repost, buy a membership first, then post.
The whole cross posting in many forums is a whole seperate issue I don't want to get into.
