Dude, they make expensive products but they're worth it. Their speakers sound crystal clear, and they have virtually no sound deterioration.

And why don't you give him some advice if you could word it better. Let us know how they're not awesome. So far all you've done is correct me.

Okay, I do agree that they're overpriced, and I didn't say they were the best. I definitely agree that their subwoofers are not up to par, but I had a lot of fun with their speakers in the past. Either way, not trying to argue here. I was just voicing my opinion as to if he bought JL speakers and had the money to...I honestly don't think he'd be dissapointed.

Now I have a question for you. What speakers would you recommend for someone who plays mostly rock music, and wants a lot of bass? i.e. better than the Rockfords.

No arguements here....I didnt mean to come off harsh, apologies .

Anywho, I assume you mean subs? The only subs Ive seen that hit as hard as mine (and mine is only eating about 250wrms out of 800 possible) are the Eclipse Tis. They are expensive (about $300 for a 10") but they are top shelf. I dont like new rockford stuff at all. Ive had rockford for YEARS, and the new stuff IMHO is just ok. The old school waffle irons and HX2s were some of the best equipment money can buy.

Haha, I agree with that actually, but I was referring to speakers. I have two 6.5 inch Rockford power speakers that I got for about $130. I've had subs before but this is by far the smallest car I own and my plans don't include a subwoofer.

The Rockfords I have sound pretty good, but what I really like is that they add a nice amount of bass. I listen to a lot of rock and metal, and being that I have a Pioneer hu, I have to crank it up to like 35-40 to really hear it, and if I put it at say 55-60 on the highway, it's distorted. So, my question is what speakers would you recommend for me?

I would amp them. The HU is giving them a lousy 18W per channel. A nice amp would bring that to 75, and make a huge difference.

Hmm...ok. I had a mono Alpine amp before, is that alright or would you recommend another kind/brand?

Mono wont work for for 2 speakers. You need another one. How much are you willing to spend?
