Pay It....when you get 6 points on your license they NYS DMV will 'assess' there own fine. Oh, I think every point you get on top of the 6 is another hundred dollars each.

Read the letter...If u don't pay I bet they will suspend your license

I thought 25 over was a 5pt violation...with 30 over at 6pts? at 5 i don't think you would get the assessment.

I'll check

the driver assesment fine is IN ADDITION TO any fines you have already paid. I was advised by my local DMV that there is a class action suit being filed against the state over this.

I googled NYS Driver Assesment and....

http://www.nydmv.state.ny.us/drp.htm

+

A change to the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law requires drivers who are convicted of specific traffic violations to pay an assessment to the DMV. The Driver Responsibility Program applies to all drivers who operate, or operated, a motor vehicle in the State of New York, regardless of the state the motorist is licensed in.

And I checked the DMV site...speeding 21-30mph over is 6points
