quick stupid stupid question
when you mount new tires, are they supposed to be slippery until they break in????
i just mounted my tires and they are pretty slippery.....they need to be broken in correct???

There is generally a 'film' on the tires (which is why they are greasy when new). This is very normal, I believe. After a few miles, they will 'break in' and get to optimum traction.

yea im sure its because they were greasy and cold.
as soon as i pulled out the car got completely sideways....like i just got out of a carwash

What is the reason for putting lock tight on the anti fouler? Tighten it with an open ended wrench and leave it alone.
Yes as Byron mentioned, there is a coating on the tires so the rubber comes out of the mold easy.

loctite on anti-foulers wouldn't make sense. heat breaks down loctite.
there's a release compound to get new tires off the mold from the factory, not to prevent them from sticking to each other. after a few miles, it should disappear.

Actually you can get loc-Tite in proper temperature range so it would work. But Val you don't need it after a couple heat & cool cycles it will lock it self. The last time I tried to take mine off I couldn't so don't worry about it And Allen is correct about the tire compound honestly its my favorite few miles after I mount the tires. It makes you feel like the Drift King
