Default quick question about 3 pc wheels

hey if i needed to take the face off to clean and polish real well,(on some rims the bolts look new, some look old.) what problems could i run into? somebody told me that if i disassemble they will never go back the same. but i dont see why they wouldnt ?? advise...... thanks also i have seen some pics of people removing the faces with a tire on??? is that ok. i would think only when there is no tire.

I dont see why you would have an issue... But there are torque specs for each bolt and think you have to do them in star pattern just like nuts on the wheels so could be time consuming but other than that you should be fine

the only thing with a 3 piece wheel is most of them have a gasket that you should replace in btwn the 2 barrel pieces. other than that, try to get the torque specs for the bolts.

i redid my 2 piece blitz type 01 wheels a few yrs ago. its a lot of work and i would never do it again.

be careful because if you overtorque the bolts, then can break.

I did mine like a year ago or so. Was not too bad but a pain to torque each bolt down when putting them back. Takes a while. Think it was like 25 ft lbs but I am sure all wheels are different.
Need to take mine apart in not too long again unfortunately. Used red loctite when putting them back together to make sure they held well. I am sure I will regret that when taking apart again lol.
