Pierce Brosnan involved in deadly high-speed car chase
January 4, 2005, 12:58:48 'James Bond' star Pierce Brosnan has admitted he was involved in a
dangerous stunt after he was lured into a deadly high-speed car chase. But unlike his 007 character,
the actor, who was driving his 200,000GBP Aston Martin at the time, says he pulled out of the race
when he thought of his family.
Brosnan, 51, has revealed he was taking his powerful car for a spin near his
Hollywood home when a Ferrari appeared alongside him.
The father-of-two says within seconds he was speeding along the hilltop roads at a staggering 95mph.
He said: "The kid wanted to race. But, I said to myself, 'What am I doing? I'm a 51-year old man
with a wife and children'.
So I hit the brakes and slowed down." However, despite his daredevil instincts Brosnan has finally
come to terms with the fact he won't be playing Bond ever again.
He said recently: "I've been very blessed. Some people have a tendency to get knocked down in this
business and sulk and whine, but you have to have broad shoulders."
