Parking Ticket Question

Parking Ticket Question
I got a ticket for parking on the streets in Lower East Side. The street has a sign that says no parking between 12am and 3am for street cleaning. So here are my three questions:
1. I got ticketed at 12:07am (that's the time stamp on the ticket)
When I returned to my car, my watch was showing 12:00am. If I dispute the ticket, what are the chances that I could shrug it off because it was only 7 minutes after 12 on the police's clock -- as in it's not ridiculous that one's clock/watch is off by a few mins, and that they should allow a little bit of margin for error.
2. Police got my VIN wrong
Given that the VIN is incorrect on my parking ticket (it says "I" instead of "J" for the first letter), do I still have to pay? All other information look correct (plate number, make of the car, color, etc). If I do not need to pay, do I still need to file a dispute for the ticket? Or do I simply ignore the ticket? I know that in some states, a ticket is not honored unless all information on the ticket are correct. I do not know if that holds for New York.
3. I have a Maryland 60-day temp plate that expired a month ago
Since I have a Maryland plate, should I even bother dealing with the ticket? I bought the car in MD, and the dealer's still trying to figure out the details of getting me New York registration and plates.
Any inputs would be greatly appreciated. I really don't feel like paying for this ticket, since I honestly don't feel it's legit (given how close to 12:00am they gave me the ticket) and recently just got a 95-dollar parking ticket in a municpal lot in Queens -- I parked my car one spot over in the wrong section ... just one damn spot out of the 300 spots that the lot had.

My guess would be if the VIN is incorrect there is nothing against you thus you wouldn't have to pay. If they can't connect your car to the car being charged with the fine there is no evidence.
The time thing won't hold up because you can't really prove your watch said 12 at the time that you got to your car.
I'm not a lawyer so I don't know but those are my good guesses on the subject

Your temp plate matches which carries all the necessary information that will tie you and the ticket together, but do not despair. There are a lot of "fight your ticket" websites that can handle the situation or alleviate the situation significantly.
I was in a similar situation as you two years ago and to make it quite brief, I'll tell the story w/ bullet points..
-No parking zone @1AM, the $125 ticket was written and completed by 1:05AM
-Murky signs
-They put "TOYOTA" instead of "Acura" in the model box
-Took pictures of the whole street and the sign
-Sent in the original citation, pictures of the murky sign and street, and some papers they make you print on the fight your ticket website
-Ticket dismissed literally a year later
-Paid $35 in total (registration fee)

Parking tickets (as compared to moving violations) must be letter perfect. One error and they will be dismissed. If in fact there is an error with the VIN that should get rid of the tickets.
There is a way to ask for a hearing by mail if you want (look at the ticket) . If you have time , then go in person.
