Default Parking Ticket HELP!

OK so I was sitting down getting a haircut when I realized it was time to put another quarter in the meter. I told my barber to go put in a quarter because I had heard another guy just got a ticket down the street so I knew that the person was coming. My barber runs out and puts in a quarter even before the cop gets there and starts to write a ticket. She wrote me one anyway. I wouldn't say that she was all the way down the block but she was across the street when he put the quarter in. Still he got there and put the quarter in before she started to write anything or was even next to my car. Is there any way I can fight this?

Thanks fellas.

What were you given a ticket for? I believe there is a violation in the books where you can get a ticket for feeding the meter.

wow that sucks if its true, we don't have that problem with parking
meters in NJ there are some metered spots but I think most are not.

ideugene: How much is the ticket I'm guessing its not to much for a parking
ticket you might be better off just paying it rather then going through all the
BS involved with fighting it. Or you might want to try that site I have been
hearing about on the radio Parking Tickets.com I put the link below
For you. good luck

Yeah, I just confirmed it. NYC code 33 states that you can only park in a metered spot for the length of time that is posted then move said vehicle and allow another vehicle the opportunity to park in said space the distance you have to move your vehicle I believe is 500ft.

I heard that there is a site out there that will help with parking stickers. Thats its guaranteed to have your ticket removed in NYC, if not they will pay for it or something. Dont quote me on this, but I heard this on the radio.

I had that one. Dont bother fighting it. I was in the city, SITTING ON MY CAR (not the s2k)....I have 3 minutes on the meter left. Lady comes to my car and starts to write a ticket, while we are both staring at the meter and see there is still legal time on it. I ask her what she is doing, and she said "Have fun fighting it."

I told her " I hope your fat ass loses your job and you cant feed yourself" or something along those lines. If she wasnt a lady, and was a guy, I would have decked him sooooo hard, it would have been worth being in jail for it.

Well, maybee not jail, but you get the idea.

sorry .. not in NY and did not pick up on this thread .. parking tixs can be fought and won if there is ANYTHING wrong on it (any wrong numbers or info ??) otherwise .. unless your time is really not worth anything you might as well pay it and move on.
