I've been to college a few times...4 or 5 different colleges, in fact. All I have to show is an Associates in Applied Science in Aerospace Technology (or something like that) from the CCAF...

Is a degree necessary for a good salary? No. But, it takes a bit of luck to land a good gig without one. Last fall when I was in school at ASU for Engineering, one prof showed a list of expected first year salary for an engineering grad. I already made nearly 2x what those grads could look at making. And this year, I've cleared even more than I did last year.

8 years experience in electronics, including 2 years in a niche-ish industry >= college degree and no experience (in this industry).

Cleared 100k this year. Not too bad for a 4x college drop out

BS at rutgers for Genetics and Molecular Sciences, and now getting my MS at UMDNJ this summer. Hopefully going for doctorates afterwards

I'm into science and research, and in this field, education is actually everything =[

I took time off from school in boston, having only one year to go to finish with an Economics degree. The past few years have been a life changing experience to say the least. What i learnt out of the classroom visiting other countries, working and meeting new people have really helped me get a new perspective on the world and the value of an education. Each person has their own path in life and i give people alot of respect if they have become successful without needing the silly little piece of paper. I know myself and i NEED the degree to be able to persue the goals i have for myself. My latin teacher taught me a very important lesson about life, "Semper Ubi Sub Ubi".
