Default NJ Car Insurance

Ok, so I'm finally coming off of assigned risk and I need to decide on a new insurance company. Does anyone know which insurance companies will cover aftermarket stuff, ex. J's aero kit, Volk rims, etc. in case of accident or theft. Thanks, Rick

I think you need to go with something along the lines of collectors car insurance. Something that will cover the implied value of the car and not just the car itself. If you find something let me know as I will need this too when i get my car back on the road.

I heard way back, maybe '00-01 Liberty Mutual was a little more mod friendly. Not sure though

Progressive is mod friendly, I've never made any claims with them though. They will cover up to a $1,000, which is included with Comprehensive or Collision for free. I had an additional $4,000 on each of my cars that cost approx $26 more a car for the 6 months. Fairly cheap for what your gettting i think. Its listed under Additional Custom Parts or Equipment on my policy

Call Minliu at Allstate, tell her Mike Lee sent you.
She most likely can explain options for you.

NJ manufactors is mod friendly to my car. They basically said keep all receipts for proof of money spent on the mods and it'll be covered without any increase in INS per year.

Ok- got my quote thru Progressive. I have full coverage 500 deductible, $4000 aftermarket coverage for less than $2200/yr.

Not bad from 7k.
