Default Nicest, fastest, most scenic route to the Dragon

As this will be my 10th Dragon, I have found the perfect route. I have learned if you try to go down through the dragon via any towns north of it, expect to add hours to your trip and a lot of misery. Many of these places are like Vegas and are overwhelmed with visitors, and rush hour traffic combined.

So I take:

I-81 south
I-26 south to ashville area (this is what we call the american autobahn)
from ashville, I-40 west
continue on 74/23 west, great smokey mountain expressway. An interstate paced mountain twister of a road with no stops or lights.
continue to hellbender 28, Fontana Village is on this road and will be on your left.

DO NOT take 28 due south, stay on 74/23 until you get to the part of 28 that heads out to Fontana Village.

Study google maps to familiarize yourself with this route.

Many joys on the American Autobahn. We have left our mark there a few times.

Drive safe all.

Sincerely,

3-4 lane concrete super highway. Very barren. Visibility incredible.

It will be a few towns first, then it will turn concrete, wide, barren, and scenic.
