Once again, thanks for all the input!

I will be checking out a s2000 on sat and hopefully it will work out and I will be a proud owner of a silver one.

Hopefully, I can come out of the one of the metro meets and meet other members.
Good luck with the purchase. Silverstone is a rare color around here in Metro

, yeah I was jsut kidding about the Silverstone being a rare color. It is a running joke here in Metro.

Any case, best of luck with your search. For the winter, I would def recommend winter tires and some AP1 wheels. Dunlop Wintersport tires are good too. I have them on my old S.

Summer tires and snows the way to go, no need for all seasons! Summer tires can be good in the rain.
Type of tires available depends on sizes, whether you're running 16" or 17" oem wheels, which depends on model year, or if you go aftermarket.
Do a search for AP1 vs AP2 if you're not familiar w/ the differences.

I'll just reiterate what everyone else is saying....

I daily drive my 07, and in the beginning I was doing 100+ miles daily. This was through rain, snow, and everything in between. As others have said, get a good set of summer tires so you can enjoy the car for what it is in the good weather. If you plan to drive in the winter, get a good set of snow tires. With dedicated snow tires, you WILL handle better than a FWD car and and AWD car with regular tires. All seasons are basically a "jack of all trades, master of none."

If this is your first RWD car, just take it easy at first and you'll quickly learn how it handles and performs. The car is just fine for daily driving. I do it every day, and even haul bikes around with it.

Good luck.

I have daily driven mine for 2 and half years now. Love it. Even drove it through the winter time twice with summer tires on it(I don't recommend it at all!!)
DO NOT get all seasons. They suck!!

As everyone else said, winter tires and then summer tires for the rest of the year.
I just got some Sumitomo HTRZ3 summer tires all around. $100 or less per tire and feel really nice in dry traction and wet seems really good as well.
Best bang for the buck tire imo.

Once again, I really appreciate all the input. Glad to see there is a great local forum.

I checked out the s2000 sat and I will be closing out the deal this week. The s2000 is by far the funniest car I have ever driven/owned. I have driven civic si, wrx, 350z and even a chipped A4 but the s2000 is like driving a high powered go-kart. And boy do I love how the engine is just asking to be revved after 4k. And the handling was unbelievable.

I have already been looking on craigslist for winter tires and I have another question. I never owned a car that came with a staggered setup on the wheels and I have read the faq in the wheels/tire section.

I found a deal for set of dunlop m3 on 16inch steelies with 205-55-16 tires off an rsx and was wondering would I be ok with that setup? I searched around and didn't find much info about people running steelies on a s2000. Would it clear the brakes?

If not, I found another deal for Blizzak LM-22 205/55/16 so would I be able to mount them on the stock AP1 rims. I know 205/55/16 is the stock tire spec for the front but would I be able to mount them on the rear?

Moddiction, I am def going to look into the weighted knobs you produce because I have heard good things about them. Do you offer engraving on the knob?

Sorry for the long post!
