Default Need some input from metro s2000 owners!

Hi, I am strongly considering buying a s2000 and using it as a daily driver going a short distance(30 miles total) between ny and nj for work.

I am curious is there any members here that daily drive the s2000?

From what I researched, I understand the s2000 sucks in the snow so I am already planning to getting blizzak snow tires but what about in the rain? Would a good set of all-season tires be sufficent for driving in all weathers in nyc except during the winter time? If so, does anyone have any recommendation of a good brand of all-season tires for the s2000.

I already decided not to get a beater car because I do not have room for another car and I plan to enjoy the s2000 all year round.

Thanks in advance!

There are plenty of Summer tires that do well in the rain. With you buying Winter tires for the cold season, I don't see a reason to have All-Seasons for the rest of the year.

Good Luck on your search.

all season tires do not work in more than an inch of snow! get real winter tires. I drive my car all year long and put my snow tires on during the winter. if you want all season tires I recommend Goodyear GTs or Bridgestones. Tirerack.com will be a great reference. I would be more worried about keeping your car mint cuz parking in NYC sux. Your car will get nicked eventually. Good luck to you.

Thanks for all the responses! Keep them coming!

I do plan to run blizzak tires during the winter time. I am looking for a good set of all-season tires for the rest of the year.

I totally know what you mean about nyc parking but I am not too worried since I have an garage space.

get summer tires and snow tires. i drive in nyc at night time to go out and its not a big deal. you have a garage, so its even easier for you. definitely get snow tires for the winter and some summer tires for the rest of the seasons. no need for all seasons. theyre not good in the snow.

i run blizzaks in the winter and sumitomos htrz III the rest of the yr. theyre awesome in the rain.

^ yup. the only proof i needed was jon (soul coughing) driving his 475hp boosted s2k in snow on snow tires. daily driving a boosted s2k all yr round, not matter the weather, ftw.

Once again, thanks for all the input!

I will be checking out a s2000 on sat and hopefully it will work out and I will be a proud owner of a silver one.

Hopefully, I can come out of the one of the metro meets and meet other members.
