Need some help washing my car
Hey Guys,
I am looking to find out from some of the pro's that wash their cars on a regular basis what they use to get their car clean. I am more interested in what products people use to get the dirt and grime off their car initially, as i dont want to put even more swirls in my black paint! I have read the wash and wax threads and stickies, but want to hear from Metro what they use to get their car's shining!

want to minimize swirls? minimize the amount of touching the car.
if that can't be done, use a two bucket method. rinse sponge in there (or with a hose) and keep suds/clean water in another.
to remove/lessen swirls, you will need to polish.

I use the werkstatt line
http://www.jeffswerkstatt.com/
if you wanna go hardcore get a random orbital buffer
I have a udm
there is a large selection of products to choose from
but from what I've read
the best results are a sealant with a nuba on top....for shine and durability

To remove swirls, you'll need a polish, as others have said. Once that's out of the way, just start washing your car with the two bucket + gritguard method. I use Meguiars gold glass car wash (can be purchased at Autozone). Then I squeegee off the water, and when it's still damp, apply a spray on wax (I use griot's). Sometimes I clay bar before I wax, obviously, though not every time. When I do, I use speed shine as a lubricant for the clay. Then wipe off the excess with a towel, making sure to turn frequently. I'm still very much a novice when it comes to this stuff, and I'm trying to get into more advanced stuff. My car does not have many swirls (I'm sure silver hides it a lot better than black) so I don't feel the need to polish yet. Doing what I have mentioned gets me a very nice shine.
