Possibly. I have the tap/die set, but not the bolt removal set. I'd say give it a try first - if it doesn't work, you can still just drill out the hole and tap it. Drilling out the hole and retapping it will require using a bolt a size or two up from the stock, so make sure you can find the right length bolt first...
That's like my LAST resort

I want to try to just drill out the bolt in there and use the same sized threads / bolt

if you drill it DEAD center, you can get it out and run the tap right through the original threads....you wanna just come to my daytime shop and well do it?

Honestly your the one I'd prefer working on anything major on my car besides myself.

could you tap the threads that are before the broken part?

then just use a shorter bolt.

bump from the dead, but which bolt is this? the frontmost of the three on the front subframe, the middle or toward the back?
