If you never signed over the title, not sure why you would of done that Then as far as DMV is concerned you still own it. So I don't really know what help anyone here can provide.

You shouldn't be liable if you signed the title and it was given to dmv. If the guy never registered the car and you don't have the title, then you probably still liable for the car unless you can find the guy you sold it 2.

Do you have the recp from the DMV when you turned in the plates? That might help you.

doubt it. that doesnt prove he sold the car.

you need to check with the dmv to see if the car was ever registered after you sold it, or if the signed title was given to the dmv to issue a new title.

thats my only suggestion and hopefully it should work.

Dont have to... just go to the DMV, they will have all that info on file... but if the car was found with no plates on it, then it still looks like Sleeper abandoned the car even though he didnt...

dammit val, u always post while i post and its usually the same thing...

in order to register the car at the DMV the new owner has to hand in the old title to receive a new one...
