Moving to Long Island,NY.Need rent info.
After living in texas for a year, I am moving to long island in 2-3 weeks for a greener pasture in my career. I will work in bethpage, ny. i've been searching for apartments on the web without much success. i am not sure where i should live. anybody from ny knows any good/decent neighborhood around/outside bethpage? My range is about $900-1200 for a one-bedroom apartment. I want to live about 15-30 min to/from work. please give me cities or zip codes so i can search. thanks in advance.

Are you planning to work in the city?
Sounds like Great neck is your place to go...
My sister is buying a house & has an APT in great neck she's about to get out of. It's across the street from the train station & I think around 1200. 20 min train ride to NYC..
problem is.. parking sux
good luck!

For that price you will probably end up renting an apt in a house. You are moving to suburbia. There are very few apt. buildings in that area, and if there are any they are probably not in the greatest of areas. Bethpage, Levittown, Hicksville, Wantagh, Massapequa, Seaford, Merrick, East Meadow and Lindenhurst should all have apts. for rent in houses.
You don't want Wyandanch, New Cassel, parts of Amityville, Roosevelt, Hempstead, parts of Farmingdale, parts of Freeport, parts of Uniondale, and parts of Westbury.
