Motorsports stores in NYC or Long Island
I'm looking to buy a new helmet but this time I want a SA rated helmet and not a motorcylce helmet. Does anyone know of a motorsports store in the five boroughs plus long island that carries SA rated helmets? I don't want to order online because I prefer to test fit the helmet on this oddly shaped head of mine. Thanks in advance.

what you can do is try on motorcycle helmets and whatever brand your head feels the best in will also apply in car helmets.
For me arai is the best as it fits my big round head, the bell helmets seem to work better for a egg shaped head....

My first helmet was a budget HJC and currently I have a Shoei. Unfortunately Shoei doesn't make SA helmets, well not that I know of. I've yet to try an Arai, Bell or any of the well known SA helmets. Hence, I'm trying to find a place where I can try it on.

Thanks. Their website is under construction. Is their pricing reasonable?
I did not check the price I paid versus other places - for all I know I paid full MSRP. But my priority was the same as yours - to try the helmet on. I ended up buying a Simpson but the G-Force line is less expensive and offers the same certification (SA).

One thing I have learned, which has been pointed out sorta...
Helmet manufacturers vary greatly. Arai's large may fit odd, where Shoei's large fits like a glove.
Bottom line, alway try a helmet on for size....and brand
