Yeah we can def go. We can do the Hudson river corridor at night or go out to Aeroflex andover, its this tiny little strip with water on both ends. There is also an airport in Blairstown that has the BEST pancakes in the world and they are cheap as dirt, nothing like single engine airplanes in the early morning, its awesome

It happens to us enlisted folks after about 10 years of service where you can't re-enlist anymore.

Pilot commitment is 15+ years, "regular" officer commitment is completly different as you said. I talked to both the navy recruiter and AF recruiter and it was the same either way. They invest a lot of money (upwards of a million dollars) into their pilots so it's not a quick get your feet wet and leave sort of deal.

From my understanding is, when you follow the flight career path it is longer than a normal officer, but 15+ sounds like you're either failing the schools or someones jerking your chain.
I just spoke with one of my buddy in the AF and he told me 10 years total and he's out.
