Seeing pictures like that make me regret not becoming a navy pilot
don't worry. i almost went that route and while i'm still not 100% over it, i'm somewhat glad i didn't.

just think of it this way. ever drove for more than 6-8 hours at a time without stopping? are you taller than 5'7? my point being, its STUPID cramped in there if your sitting there for a long periods of time. just think, a long distance flight in coach. add some equipment, a flight suit, some crazy g's, and no in flight movie.

I could look past all that, my main reason for not doing it was the 20 year commitment (I believe it was). When my father was a pilot in the USAF, it was only a 5 year commitment

great pics joey. I have always wanted to fly and want to try the Cessna route that Byron was talking about.
Jon, if you're up for it, theres an airfield right near Jeff's house that does about a 1 hour ride where you taxi, land, and take off with a certified instructor (you're in the pilot seat piloting though). It's a little over $200 - I would definitely do this in the summer!

^^ Awesome video! I've been thinking of doing a flight on a cessna, you pay about $200 and you get to fly it with a certified instructor for about an hour.
do you need to have prior instruction/flight time to do this? I would love to try it as well

I don't think so. They let you taxi, take off and land, but I'm sure the certified instructor is in control the whole time just in case. We should organize and S2KI Flying day.

and why can't i land and take off? ^^ seems pretty easy enough. i mean, i had a lot of practice playing Ace Combat and stuff. LOL. Joey... if you're serious though, I'm going to have to take to take you up on that offer. It wouldn't be to bad to log some flight time under my belt as I don't think jumping out of them count.

and Spec Ops, I don't know who told you 20 years. but its definitely not the case. officers don't necessarily have to serve like enlisted. If they are a scholarship recipient, then they have to serve 4 years. Graduated from the service academies, make it 5. After that, you become what we on the enlisted side call "in-def" meaning you can leave whenever you want.

It happens to us enlisted folks after about 10 years of service where you can't re-enlist anymore.
