Default Mitsubishi Evo X

Been looking into getting a second car. STi 5dr's are non existent at dealerships anymore and I am not interested in buying their redesign. So I'm looking into getting a Evo X GSR. Do you guys have any friends who own one? what are their thoughts on the car? or does anyone here own one?

The only thing I don't like is the small trunk space and no folding rear seats. I really like the quick steering ratio (compared to the STi) & the handling is great for a street car (less understeer than STi). The stock Recaro seats are awesome! Great car IMO. Makes me wonder why I didn't get an Evo.

My buddy is an evo9 and evo8 addict. He cants stand the evo x. I was looking for an evo myself and basically Mitsu and Huyndai went at it for the evoX and genesis engineering. From what i hear they share a lot. The motor is not iron anmore but people get a lot of power from just bolt ons and a tune so they react to tuning really well. Other than that not sure why some old school evo fans are hating ong the new evo.

Evo 8 and 9 people hate the X just for the fact that it went from a 4g63 to a 4b11. Also because it gained a bit more weight.

Owners of older generation models often dislike the newer models. They cite things like "the older gen is more raw"... etc. Statements like these are used by the owners of the previous generation to assure themselves that their car is up to snuff and to make their car relevant. It's like a first born child crying for more attention when a new baby is born. They just want to continue to feel special. This happens with the AP1 vs AP2, GD vs GR STi, and the CT & CZ Evo (among other cars). Just IMO.

bc it's more raw.

Just get an Sti Lon! I can ask my friends at Star Subaru if they have any available. I'm assuming you don't want the hatch type? The four door is nice too though.

This is true, i was a previous 9 MR owner. I heard the X was more comfortable and a better daily though.
