Default Megan header

Sorry. I got a noobie question here. Is Megan header for our cars any good? Is it better than our stock header? Anyone out there with one? Gain any horses? Please let me know. I am looking to order a new one online right now but since it is so cheap, I am a little scared to get one. Thanks for your help.

Quality wise the OEM is a better piece. Performance wise OEM is most likely equal or better. Our cars have very well designed exhaust systems from the factory. If you want to gain 1-2 hp get an Invidia test pipe, they are cheap & well made. If you can get the Megan header for really cheap though & just want a fun little project why not then

I have a T1R testpipe and Fuji exhaust already. I am looking for a header for better sound and some horse power gain. If OEM is better, then I would rather not get a header for the look or project. My main concern here is, would I lose any power?

BTW thank you so much. You have like answers to all my questions lol

Just leave it stock then.. only way to make real power for relatively cheap on 4 cylinder engines is boost, or nitrous. Guys spend $1500 on a header & another $1500 on titanium exhaust and their cars are no faster than stock in spite of what they may think.
For $4000 you could have a basic supercharger setup & gain +100whp though.

not many headers gain power for the s2k. the oem one is designed very well. j's, toda and hytech are known to gain a little bit of power, but for the $1500 price tag, it's not worth it.

Amen to that. Most don't understand the the S is great OEM. FI is the only thing that is significant.

PLM seems to have some nice gains for only $400 shipped brand new.
