Default Installing springs on shocks + have a few ?'s

So I bought a full ap2 suspension (shock spring combo) from Surj not too long ago (with less than 10k on it) and I installed it on my ap1 not too happy with how much higher my car is and how much softer it feels. I was told maybe my ap1 suspension was pretty worn because it has 109k which is why it sits a little higher.

I also ran into this issue with my front driver side sitting a little higher than the rest of my car (4 FINGER GAP almost)! wth? I think I might've tq'ed the upper control arm a little much. Any ideas?

I just picked up some Tanabe NF210 springs from this dude in Queens and I was wondering if I would need an alignment after and if anyone has any recommendations in the area (20-40 mile radius of Manhattan of possible plz). I typically got them done at Sears in Nanuet, but if there are better places, Someone let me know. lolll

I'm looking to install the NF-210 springs on the ap2 shocks. Has anyone had any experience with those springs? I'm not trying to go really low. I drive this everyday and would prefer to keep my oem front lip intact.

Last question is, will I have to roll my fenders? I'm on Work VS XX's 17x9/17x8 +47 all around with oem ap2 size tires.

Thanks guys.

At over 100k miles ur stock shocks are spent!
After u intsall the new springs let them settle for a while before u get an alignment.
As far as the wheels fitting, that's a pretty safe offset for both if u use 215 and 245 tires. But like I said wait until the springs settle. All springs settle differently.

Good luck to you sir

you need to preload your suspension by compressing the suspension with a jack when you torque down the control arms.

its all relative. if you are consistent and jack up all four hubs the same height you will get an even drop.

Damn sounds like a pain to do with a floor jack. So have it compressed, then tq' down the front... So what about the rear? Same thing? I had to use 2-3 people for the rear what a PITA

LOL I don't think you read my original post. Or maybe it wasn't too clear?

I meant Sears for an alignment. I'm probably going to install iit myself tonight. Which isn't difficult, or at least I don't think so. I have the spring compressor and tools. I've been to Jeff's in Jersey and I'm pretty sure he doesn't have an alignment rack. Unless he does the alignment old school with some string...

I've just never "Preloaded" so I guess I should get a tape measure and see how much the jack is pushing the LCA up and make sure it's the same height all around??

Does it really matter though how much I jack it up? I mean I don't want to compress it too much no?
