I completely agree. make a example out of him, especially since this is getting so much coverage. maybe people will think twice about ripping someone off.

That would mean that when the seller removed the parts, they legally belonged to the buyer, making it theft.

That Steve Lehto is spot on! Right off the bat I was thinking treble damages and I'm pretty sure that in California, Lon will be able to recover his costs and attorneys fees.

OP - if you contacted police, please considering asking them to request a copy of the surveillance camera footage from any business who's camera shows entrance to the business. This will show if the car ever left the place with hard top after it was sold to you. if You left it there with the top and then it shows it being loaded onto a truck without hard top - then Paragon Automotive is culpable.

Sorry but there is not much to report back at the moment. We are in talks between lawyers but we have not reached a settlement yet.

Thank you everyone for the continued support and I will keep you posted first.

Sorry to hear you had to go through this. I truly hope that you not only get the parts back, but also a restitution award for something thats clearly an attempt to scam. I read the article last night and was shocked by what this f..ing idiot tried to pull on you. I'm glad to hear that you took legal action against him and not thats its going to teach him anything because scumbags like this never change, but more important at the end of the day you will walk away in victory. Good luck and enjoy the car!
