Got wind of this thread tonight via the front page status updates and read the whole thing. Boy did this blow up and rightfully so.

Lon, sorry this happened to you. Wishing you the best in getting this put right, but please be wary of retaliation against you for the harassment Paragon received. Not sure what personal information was shared during the transaction, but I'd be on the lookout for things like identify theft. Hoping that doesn't occur, but it's clear these people are completely unscrupulous.

Also, in addition to Jalopnik having the worst website design I've seen since the 90s, their journalism is also lousy. Happy they'll spread the word further, but damn are they daft.

You have to admit the hamburglar taking the hardtop was a nice touch.

I don't own an S2000 anymore but still browse these forums every so often but I wanted to say... What a total jackass! This guy will get what's coming to him one way or another. On a positive note, your car appears to be very immaculate. Fortunately the seller grabbed the petty stuff and didn't mess with things on the car that couldn't be replaced.

This stuff really pisses me off. Hope it all resolves itself. It's bad enough people try to steal our cars, now you have people outright stealing things after a face to face purchase.

Saw this on a BMW page and I just wanted to say that some of the reviews being written on Yelp are absolutely hilarious, makes for a good read

Hopefully everything goes well for OP. Subscribed for updates.

Former S2000 owner (and recent shopper for a second one) chiming in. Currently pushing my friend to get an S2000 and glad to see he will be joining a healthy supportive community if he does. Some specific other car communities by contrast have a lot to learn from the good folks here at S2ki, this is what camaraderie is.

Best of luck Lon! And this whole ordeal sucks and all, but even without the coils and the hardtop, your white on red car is still absolutely stunning. Hope you get what's rightfully yours!

Best of luck to the OP!!! Nice to see the outpouring of support from every corner of the internet.

I hope the seller is enjoying the big, steaming pile of shit that he dove head-first into. Grade A slimeball for sure.

I can't help but wonder how Nicky Santoro would have handled the situation.

So sorry you had to deal with this. Been scammed before, not on this level, but regardless its not fun to deal with.

Mine ended up no where....atleast yours seems to be moving in a good direction.

As a fellow S2k member/ recently apart of the community. Goddam. This is awful man. This post was shared on my 2JZpost on Facebook about 3-4 times about how viral it went.. Good for the s2000 guys though. Keep it up!

Same thing happened to me in the last couple days. Guy sold me an engine with advertised parts and none to be found in there, lied, covered up, and blocked me off everything. Absolutely bullshit.

Sorry this happened to you bro. Hope we both get our resolutions peacefully
