Default how does one "maintain" a plexi glass window

So its snowing in ny, and I left my car outside. Now I'm faced with the problem of removing snow from a window that scratches if you look at it the wrong way. Do I have to order a glass window for my car? Actually how do i remove scratches that i already have? Does the headlight trick work? Start at 1000grit, finish with 2500 and buff it out?

this is in reference to an aftermarket hardtop with a plexiglass rear window.

If it were me I'd start with a plastic polish

Maybe some sort of cardboard insert place on the window BEFORE the snow starts?

But yeah, after the scratches are already there, ^^^^. I think Meguiars has a 3 steps plastic program too.

I would use micro-fiber towel to wipe snow off of that, not even brush it off.

I have the lexan window and used microfiber on my car and you can see the swirl marks and scratches even from that lol Sucks but it is what it is unless i replace it with glass later on
Ahh... that sucks!

Good to know because I was actually thinking of replacing my truck glass back window with Lexan.

You can compound/polish lexan or plex to get rid of the scratches. Anything thats deep can be sanded down then polished similar to clear.

nice! good to know, I'll be scratching it up all winter and fixing it in the summer. I cant believe that the idiots i bought it from would write on the plex. Lets engrain this plexi glass window with the owners NAME, i'm sure he'll like that! Stinking Replica! Does it have any scratches? Nah this ones pretty good. f@#k IT UP!!!!! We need consistently shitty products! buffing marks on the double, make it look like a monkey was using a rotary.

sorry was pissed, saw all the new scratches from brushing off the snow. stinkin socal, with their sun.

How about clear film once it's polished? use rear defroster if connected or, just heat the interior let it melt, and blot the water.

i don't believe its possible to put any thing on the plex. Since the plex is plastic, it doesn't transfer heat very well, it'll heat up unevenly. By heating up it expands, but its more of an uneven expansion centered on the heated area. The window tint, or any medium will not be able to stretch to cope with the new expansion. Thus, bubble.
