i just recently started this lifestyle but i can vouch for it as my bestfriend started this a few months ago and his strength both anaerobically and aerobically has increased exponentially

Swim 3 times a week, 2-3 hours at a time ( burning anywhere between 1000-1400 calories per hour ) other 3 days, run 2-3 miles at different speeds, followed by religious core excercises, and then weights for different muscle groups.
Food wise, I try to eat 5-6 times a day, mostly clean stuff, but I have my days

I lift 4 days per week and do cardio 3 days per week.
Sun... High Intensity Interval Training cardio (sprints)
Mon... Back (finish with 15-20 mins on the bike)
Tues... Chest (finish with 15-20 mins on the bike)
Wed... Legs/Shoulders
Thurs... Biceps/Triceps
Sat... Rest
What I have found since I got serious about lifting is that your diet is by far the most important part of the equation when it comes to achieving your goals next to actually putting in the time at the gym. I really didn't start getting good results until I got my diet in check. I have always been a thin guy, but since I became just as dedicated to my diet as lifting I have been able to put on 12lbs over the past 3 months, which I thought would have been impossible for me. Eating to the point where you feel like you will explode really sucks sometimes, but its worth it in the end. I'm currently at 3100 cals per day, which might not seem like a lot, but when your diet is totally clean its a pretty large amount of food. At least I'll look forward to my first cut when that time comes though.

I did a spin class and I have done the gym for years...I found that the key is not to go over board...I tend to do that when I get to my gym phase. The key is consistency. Workout 3 times a week for at least an hour. My trainer told me I didn't loose weight because I lived at the gym.... And eat well like stay away from rices and pastas and if you must eat in small portions...also have one day to cheat...that way you know you have some space to eat what you want once a week without going crazy and ordering 3 pies of pizza. Everything in moderation.
Patience is the key I tell you. I like to ride bikes and the winter is the hardest because you really dont want to be outside but for those that can afford the gym...spin class is great!!!

Day 1: Cycling (1hr) then lift (45min to 1hr)
Day 2: lift (1hr) then row machine (2000m within 9min)
Day 3: lift (45min to 1hr) then cycling (1hr)
Day 4: lift (optional)
*Trying again to see if I can bench 300lbs by year end. I'm at 275lbs again...hopefully I can do it before the year ends. Just a little goal for myself.
