How can you afford to buy your S?
I'll start...
My brother died at the age of 43. and left half of his life insurance policy to me.
I used that money to buy my S. (cuz lesson learned...life is short!)
My other brother bought a honda goldwing with his half of the insurance payout.

That just sounds wrong dude.
I've been working since I was 13, invested some money, saved a lot. I was planning on spending it for college. I applied to the top places, since I didn't want to spend 40K a year for a similar education I could get at Cuny for nothing. I was deferred at one place, waitlisted at another. So since I ended up at CUNY with a scholarship, I had some money left. I used some of it to buy my S. I've been wanting a sports car for a long time, and I figured if I don't spend the money on college, I'll spend some of it for an S.
I thought about saving the money, but I told myself I'd have a job very soon making far more than anything I could save up, and therefore it was foolish to keep penny pinching. So I decided to go all out. Another thing I absolutely HATE doing is being parsimonious. I always tell myself the solution is not to hold back, but to make more money. Life is very short, and I didn't think I wanted to look back when I was 40 and only wish I had a cool sports car to enjoy at my age. This way, I have the S, I enjoy it! I have absolutely no remorse, and I'm so glad to have bought it; and the truly amazing community that makes up S2Ki is icing on the cake. If I had bought a Z4 I'd either be gay or a hairdresser by now. Thank god for Metro.
Just my two cents. Sorry for being long winded.

I was working for a company for 20 years. It came to a point where I couldn't advance anymore so I went looking for another job. 6 months later I found a better paying job. It was like getting a 27.5% pay increase.
Right after giving my 2-week notice I went shopping for a sports car. One week later I showed up to work with the S. Co-workers thought I hit the lotto and bought a Porsche.
