Default good exhaust spot

So I was going to purchase a comptech exhaust and my friend told me for the money that I am better off getting a custom exhaust for half the money . Anyhow , if he is true about this . Does anyone know of a good place that might be able to make me a 1 piece exhaust system ?

Anyone can do a nice fab job. If it is not dyno proven, you are sure to lose major HP. Tuned exhaust systems have a venturi effect that coincides with exhaust valve timing. Scavenge more out, get more in.

Buy an exhaust that has dyno proven gains.

I had a car here that had barely noticeable VTEC, with a custom shop-made exhaust. Put a stock exhaust on it and the car was back to normal.

Great point, Billman. The place would really have to know what they are doing and dyno it. Doesn't sound so inexpensive once you factor in that.

To be honest I could care less for sound and the gains no matter what exhaust are minimal. Only reason I would do it is to shed some pounds or if I was going FI when you would benefit much more than a stock engine.

Unless your boosting IMO, theres no need for a custom exhaust...but if thats what you want to do, any performance shop or any exhaust shop could bend and weld a few pipes together and put them on your car, but there are alot of things to factor in when going that route. Size of pipe, guage of pipe, pipe material, mandrel bend vs crush bend, routing under the car...
